First Earth, an online civilization building simulator, has released its first developer video. First Earth is currently being tested in an invite-only alpha environment with a public beta starting in the coming months. A brief rundown on the video from the developer can be read below.
The scale of First Earth’s world is neat but it isn’t the most exciting thing. What makes this multiplayer world truly unique is that everything visible is ‘real’. In First Earth, everything that exists can be changed. Every tree, bush, rock, patch of grass, and mound of dirt can be interacted with, whether it’s just to move it, or to use it for something. Each object is stored independently in the server’s huge distributed database, carrying properties like weight, growth rate, color, and more.
